Sofia's Approach

Over the past three years, I have lived in eight countries and traveled to at least 13, immersing myself in diverse cultures and adapting to a variety of social contexts.

I studied Communication in France, Public Policy in Guatemala, and Documentary Photography in Mexico City. I honed my craft through street photography workshops with Gulnara Lyabib Samoilova, founder of Women Street Photographers, in Hyderabad, India. My professional journey includes working with the United Nations in Guatemala on their communication team and six years with Alterna, a platform for social entrepreneurs.

From 2023 to 2024, I lived aboard a ship in French Polynesia for four months, documenting the vibrant culture, breathtaking landscapes, and marine life of the region. This experience deepened my ability to adapt to remote and dynamic environments.

My social focus and deep understanding of complex contexts have equipped me with the sensitivity to approach communities authentically and capture the narratives that organizations need to share with the world. Whether through powerful imagery or written storytelling, I aim to bring visibility to projects and amplify their impact.

I am fluent in French, English, and Spanish, and am currently learning Portuguese. My multilingual skills and cultural adaptability make it seamless to integrate into international teams and connect with diverse audiences.

Let’s create visuals that inspire change and make a difference.
